Meet our inspiring speakers
Author, Motivational speaker
Dwight Whitney was born and educated in the United States. He is an experienced international communicator, story teller and brand champion with decades of
experience across many subject areas, platforms and regions.
He is one of the founders of the Anti-Bullying Centre Line in the Sand initiative and is a regular media commentator on the subject of bullying. Dwight is also a Mentor for Business Mentors New Zealand, and a Coach for the Lion Foundation Youth Enterprise Scheme. He was also part of Sir Owen Glenn’s Enquiry into Child Abuse and Domestic Violence in New Zealand.
Dwight is in the middle of writing a series of books on why aging young is so important. He will talk to us about the importance of aging young, the five key aspects to it which every male needs to address; Resilience; Belonging; Purging the Monsters; Finding, then being true to yourself.
An accident four years ago left former world wakeboarding champion Brad Smeele unable to walk, but his devastating injury and rehabilitation left him committed to helping others.
Since Brad’s injury he has demonstrated a truly inspiring mentality toward his new life as a
quadriplegic, and continues to inspire others with his drive to regain movement through intense physical rehab and his motivation to help fund groundbreaking spinal cord injury research through his newly formed foundation.
Brad now inspires people worldwide with his tenacity, but also to live a full and action packed life, regardless of his debilitating injury.
Jay Reeve is notorious for his cheeky grin and wicked sense of humour. Arguably one of NZ’s most popular and irreverent multi-media broadcasters, Jay is also a prolific MC and accidental influencer.
Jay hosted the country’s number one drive show on ZM with Flynny until early 2015, when he made the shift to Radio Hauraki Breakfast. He now holds holds the coveted hosting slot on The Rock Drive with Duncan Heyde.
He’s also hosted many live events, including the notorious Shiny Side Up motorbiking event for the last several years.
Jay has found himself an accidental influencer, amassing a sizable and engaged audience as a bi-product of his media career. He creates candid content, and is in hot demand as an ambassador to some of the world’s leading brands.
When asked to describe himself he says; “I’m the kind of guy you would invite to your wedding after meeting me once, and then wouldn’t be surprised if I ran through the reception nude.”
Jay is enthusiastic about parenting, photography, and motorbikes – as an extremely proud ambassador for Harley Davidson NZ.
